Hi there Ves. I know this matter has been adressed before, but I donīt quite understand the outcome of it. Here we have Antal, accused for cheating, but nothing happens. That would of course be the right way if the accusations were weak; and these might be seen as such, but they come from four of the most acknowledged players, and with that, there is no denial to the fact that they gain weight, rather tremendously. Had it been four newbies, or one of these four, itīd have been another matter entirely, but, such is not the case. The case is that at first, quite a while ago, Antal was banned from isle (then under the name of Alan, unless my memory fails me) after cheating against Ricard, later Dracir, known to be an honest and most skillful player. Then it was a matter of him saying "nice breastplate you picked up there Ricard", when Ricard had done just that, but from a part of the map that Antal hadnīt explored and thus shouldnīt be able to see. A month or two later, Alan, now known as Antal was given a new chance in isle (this was still before HoMM3 had come out). He seemed to be behaving, and surely playing, well (22-0 in victories, or something like that...). However, I was one who had been playing him in some of these games, and I began to think that he had an unnerving portion of luck, and so began to more closely examine the saves. What I noted was no hard evidence, just a lot of circumstantial things, like him neglecting an unguarded gemmine for a couple of days when playing wizard, to only later go for dragons in a warlock town which, when neglecting gems, was out of his sight. Like attacking lots of elves with lots of troops, but all slow, instead of bringing in troops he had which would surely have been more fitted to fight shooters, only to have the elves join him; something which couldnīt have happened with his faster, but otherwise weaker, troops. Like attacking genies with only green dragons and hydras (this HoMM2; he did have exp. dipl.) when it would have been very easy to bring some shooters also, in case they would have attacked instead of join. Still, these things in themselves I didnīt deem to be enough evidence to go forward with any accusations, and so let it lay, only naming my suspicions to a couple of friends. But when Jarcik a while ago told me what Antal had done in a game they played; "crash", to then replay his turn in an entirely different matter, so that he could win instead of lose (chat between them after that is attached), then that was enough. And when we sent this in to Moc and you yourself it proved that Moc had also seen similar things, but also chosen to neglect them since it after all could have been luck; not so with what happened against Jarcik. And when this mail went out, not a few people had had their own suspicions about his playing. Aside from this, we also have the fact that in Russia, Antal is roommate to another known cheater, Ivan Ivan Ivan, and that they BOTH have been caught using both one and two different icqīs, mails and nicknames. All this add together, and then the question is, do we want cheaters in our tourney? We say no.
