General Rules and Info --  CONTACT Vesuvius for an Open Shield Position
 Each Warlord with a shield of power, must accept and play challengers in their category at least once a week (if warlord does not play a challenger a week, he/she can lose the shield within 2 weeks. Map and color is chosen by the Warlord. Challenger hosts, and everything is set to random. Each victory by the warlord is placed in the warlords' record history. A former warlord may not attempt to reacquire their title for 60 days. It is possible for a warlord to hold more than one shield.

If a player moves up in ranking beyond his/her shield category, that player can choose to stay as the warlord of that shield, or make forced challenge to warlord above him/her. Forced challenge requires the warlord to accept that challenge over all others.
Remember, there is no registration for this tournament, you challenge the warlord directly in person or by email, etc. A warlord is no warlord until he/she gets at least 2 wins, and the more the wins, the greater the prestige.
*When a warlords game is complete, both players must select the warlords subtournament option on the winloss submission program.

Prestige points for the hall of fame are accumulated by number of wins. Each win when holding a shield of the heavens adds 2 prestige points. Each win holding a silver shield adds 1 prestige point, and every 2 wins holding the ornamental/warlord buckler adds 1 prestige point.
Current warlords have their shields displayed in the rankings; Former warlords also have their shield displayed in rankings,  at least 4 wins are required, however, to be displayed in rankings or hall of fame.
